Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)’s Nicholas Pooran has unarguably been the most dangerous batter in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, but that doesn’t matter to Mitchell Starc.
The Delhi Capitals (DC)’s left-arm paceman has owned Pooran every time he has come across him, and did exactly the same in Match 40 of the IPL 2025 in Lucknow on April 22 (Tuesday).
Pooran, who has been averaging close to 50 and striking at more than 200 in the IPL 2025, walked out to bat at No.3 against DC and started his innings with back-to-back fours off Kuldeep Yadav.
DC captain Axar Patel wasted no time in bringing Starc into the attack and it took him just one delivery to send Pooran back to the hut.
Starc went short and Pooran went for a pull, only to end up dragging it back onto the stumps. The left-handed batter could only manage nine off five against DC.
This is the fifth time Starc dismissed Pooran in the 20-over format — the West Indian batter AVERAGES JUST 2.4 against Starc in T20s.
In each of their last five head-to-head meetings, Starc has gotten the better of Pooran.
