RCB DROP Liam Livingstone as Romario Shepherd Handed Debut Against Punjab
Across the first seven matches, he scored just 87 runs at an average of 17.4 and strike rate of 127.90
After Glenn Maxwell, Liam Livingstone has become the latest marquee overseas name to be dropped from the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have axed the England all-rounder for the clash against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur.
RCB bought Livingstone for INR 8.75 crore at the mega auction, but across the first seven matches, he scored just 87 runs at an average of 17.4 and a strike rate of 127.90. Livingstone crossed the 20-run mark only once in six attempts and registered scores of 4, 4 & 0 across RCB’s previous three games, leading to his axing.
In place of Livingstone, RCB have brought in West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd. At the mega auction, RCB bought Shepherd for INR 1.5 crore.
RCB won the toss against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur and opted to chase. Punjab Kings announced that they are fielding an unchanged XI, meaning Maxwell continues to warm the bench.
