The Indian Premier League (IPL) has had some very strong performances from the bowlers. However, there have been certain bowlers who have been amazing in international cricket, but failed to get even a single wicket in their IPL career.
Here are three famous bowlers without a wicket in the IPL.
The former Bangladesh captain, who was the first one to lead his team to not just one but two knockout rounds in an ICC tournament, was unable to take a wicket in the four overs he bowled in his only game for the Kolkata Knight Riders that he played in IPL 2009. The more famous thing about Mortaza's IPL career is him getting hit for 21 runs in the last over as Rohit Sharma stole the match from KKR.
Mortaza took 390 wickets in 310 international matches across three formats.
One of the best bowlers among modern-day West Indian pacers, Kemar Roach played two matches in the IPL during the 2009 IPL season for the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. He was actually part of the IPL-winning Hyderabad-based side. But in both matches combined, the Barbados-born bowled eight overs, went for 80 runs, and could not pick a wicket.
Roach has 419 international wickets in 191 matches across formats.
Nathan McCullum, brother of the more famous Brendon McCullum from New Zealand, was a more than decent enough off-spin bowler for the Kiwis. However, in the IPL, after being picked up by Pune Warriors India (PWI), he bowled five overs, was economical and went for just 34 runs, but could not take a wicket.
In his international career, the senior McCullum took 121 wickets in 147 matches across ODIs and T20Is.
Sachin Tendulkar is not a designated bowler, but is famous for bowling nonetheless. In his 78 matches in the IPL, Tendulkar bowled six overs across four innings. He went for 58 runs, but could not get a wicket.
In his international career, Tendulkar took 201 wickets in three formats combined. Yes, Sachin took a wicket in the only T20I he played as well.
